Seleni Institute Founder Receives High Honor
Nitzia Logothetis has been awarded the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Award for Excellence by The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund.
The Award for Excellence, given each year at Leadership 100’s Annual Conference, recognizes outstanding Greek Orthodox, Greek American, and other leaders who have excelled in their vocation and are committed to advancing the values of Orthodoxy and Hellenism in their lives and activities. Mrs. Logothetis is the Founder and Executive Chairwoman of the Seleni Institute, a nonprofit foundation that addresses women's unique mental healthcare needs by providing the care, information and research funding critical to supporting mothers and families.
“Nitzia believes that the mother is the core of the family, and that when the mother is healthy, everyone thrives," said Leadership 100’s Executive Director, Paulette Poulos. “We are thrilled to honor the passion for caring for mothers and families that led her to create the Seleni Institute.”
In a presentation to over 400 conference attendees, Mrs. Logothetis outlined the vision and inspiration for Seleni, the current state of maternal mental health care, and emphasized the responsibility organizations like Seleni carry for effecting positive change.
